Norco has launched a new Internship & Graduate Programme, providing students and graduates with the opportunity to gain structured, practical experience in advanced composites manufacturing.
The first participant to join the programme is Joe Porter, an Engineering student at the University of Plymouth. Joe has started his internship at Norco while continuing his studies, and will be working alongside our engineering teams on projects for customers across the defence, aerospace, marine, and energy sectors.
Reflecting on his first few weeks, Joe said:
“I’ve really enjoyed my first couple of weeks at Norco’s internship, especially how hands-on it has been. I started on the shop floor, learning how to wet laminate and infuse parts, which is helping me build the knowledge and understanding needed to support the technical engineering side.”
The programme is designed to support professional growth through:
- Exposure to core composite manufacturing techniques, including wet lay, prepreg, and resin infusion
- Experience with engineering processes, CAD/CAM, CNC programming, and additive manufacturing
- Development of project management, teamwork, and communication skills
- An introduction to quality systems and continuous improvement practices
This initiative forms part of Norco’s wider commitment to developing engineering capability and supporting future careers. Each intern or graduate on the programme follows a clear learning pathway, gaining experience across our sites and contributing to live projects that deliver real value.
