HR Manager

THE ROLE:

£50,000- £55,000 DOE

The HR Manager will lead all aspects of human resources across the business, providing practical and commercially focused HR support within a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will have previous experience working within an SME manufacturing business and will have strong experience in Employment Law and Employee Relations

This role requires a proactive individual who can build strong relationships across all levels of the organisation and across the 4 Sites, is hands on and values the importance of building relationships across the business.

Reporting to Head of People, the key role will be to support in implementing the People and Training Strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the full employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, development, retention, and offboarding
  • Provide day-to-day HR advice and guidance to managers and employees
  • Lead recruitment activities for production, technical, and office-based roles
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in line with employment legislation.
  • Manage employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, and performance issues
  • Support workforce planning and succession planning initiatives
  • Oversee payroll preparation and benefits administration (where applicable)
  • Monitor and report on HR metrics including turnover, absenteeism, and training
  • Coordinate training and development programmes to upskill employees
  • Ensure compliance with UK employment law and health & safety standards
  • Support company culture, employee engagement, and wellbeing initiatives
  • Work closely with operational managers to support productivity and organisational performance.
  • Supporting and managing the HR team; implementing career development opportunities for the team.
